Freedom chair, designed by Niels Diffrient in the 90’s, one of the products at the core of Humanscale’s success and growth – relaunches with refinements at NeoCon 2012. The chair received a more streamlined, integrating details inside the back – making for a simple, cleaner back shell. It also sports a brand new armrest designed by yours truly. The mechanism platform that I’ve designed for the armrest has actually been so successful that it is being implemented in all Humanscale task chairs: World, Smart, Freedom.

The adjustment has an amazing feel, and it locks virtually if additional force is applied. One can adjust their armrest without the need to push buttons, making the armrest lock while working or lifting from the chair. This makes for a very simple user intuitive function, and a seamless experience.
